This rare original poster created in 1898 by the French painter, illustrator and printmaker Henri-Gabriel Ibels depicts a scene of fairground wrestlers preparing for performance, capturing with remarkable sensitivity the atmosphere of popular entertainment at the end of the nineteenth century.
